Everest Region

Gokyo LakeTrekking

This  famous and popular trekking of the Everest Region offers the fascinating beauty of the Nepal’s mountains including the highest mountain in the world, the Mount Everest. The Gokyo Valley is the most impressive destination of this trekking which is located in the west part of Khumbu. The Gokyo region is famous for the spectacular views of the highest  mountains like Mount Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu (8153m), Mount Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8463m). Another attraction in the region is the famous lake known as the Gokyo Lake. The most important part of this trek is to view the remarkable ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung.

The trek provides a unique opportunity to visit the  the Ngozunpa glacier which is one of the largest glaciers of Nepal. One can observe the magnifiscent glimpses of the high mountains including including Makalu, Lhotse, and Everest. The trek begins from Lukla with the spectacular views while passing through Namche Bazaar, Thami and Khumjung Valley. As you go higher, you leave behind many waterfalls passing through patches of rhododendron and birch forests, and the grazing yaks.  The opportunity of experiencing the Tibeto-Nepalese culture of the Sherpa people, the unique Sherpa valley, their life style and culture, many monasteries and chortens makes the trek culturally enlightening.
