Everest Trekking via Jiri

While the Annapurna region ranks among the top ten trekking destinations in the world, the Everest region which is located in the northeast from Kathmandu is certainly the most popular destination for trekkers in Nepal, located in the northeast of Nepal. Everest trekking via Jiri is one of the most rewarding and challenging treks in the Everest region. Starting from Jiri the trek passes through the Sherpa village and beautiful Buddhist monasteries.  From Jiri it takes several days to reach Namche. The  classic route from Jiri to Everest was used by the trekking & mountaineering expeditions prior to the airstrip at Lukla came into existence.

You will encounter with the people of different ethnic group like Sherpas, Rais, Tamangs, Brahmins, and Chhetris on your way. The trek winds through some of the most fabulous mountain landscape on earth, where you can relax in strikingly friendly villages. Further to the north lies the famous national park “Sagarmatha National Park” where you can see the diverse range of wildlife and vegetation.

Experiencing Sherpa culture in Junbesi and Khumjung village, visiting Sherpa museum in Namche Bazar, capturing the panoramic view, visiting Tyangboche Monastery and the spectacular mountain views from Kalapatar and Everest basecamp are the major component of this trekking.
