India Travel Information

Weather

India is really a vast country – 5th largest in the world by land area. Hence, the climate varies in India according to the time of the year and the particular geography of the region. While the monsoon rains might cause discomforts, traveling to hill station during the summer is very popular. The whole Indian subcontinent has been divided into eight climatic zones, and they share only one climate, the monsoon. Even the time of the monsoon varies according to the location.

Monsoons are heavy in the central India. Temperature vary considerable in the northern plains – from hot summer in April, May, & June to monsoons in July, August, & September, and to chilly winter in December & January.

For trekking in the western mountains, the summer season may the best time when the weather is mostly cool & cloud-free.  March to October is the best time for traveling in the western Himalayan regions.
