Trekking Permits
Since most of the trekking regions share India’s border with China & Pakitan, India requires every outsider to obtain a permit before trekking in those areas. However, most of the earlier restricted areas have been opened for trekking with permit from the India Government. Individuals are still not allowed in some regions like Mizoram, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Himanchal Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. Only groups are allowed to trek for certain days (around 10 days) in those areas.
